6/13/2017 0 Comments one of my favorite daysThis past Sunday we celebrated Bunker Hill Day, it is always the Sunday before June 17th the anniversary of the battle of Bunker Hill. Now some of you may know about the battle but not the annual celebration. Well with two parents who grew up in Charlestown I have grown up attending Bunker Hill Day, it is equivalent to the 4th of July. The night before there is always an old-time band that plays in front of the monument and it’s fun to go and watch and see all the little kids running wild. Then the day starts with a road race around town, that I volunteer at, god I don’t run it have you seen the hills! Then there is a parade that goes all around town, everyone wears red white and blue and there is always tons of food and beverages. The parade usually goes by my aunt’s house, which is the house my dad grew up in but this year for the first time in my life the route changed and no longer passed the house. We made the best of it, but I want it back to normal next year, okay, thanks. It’s a day full of family, friends and tradition and somewhere along the way it has become one of my favorite days of the year! Below is what I wore, both purchased from Target the day before (I never wear shorts, like I think the last time I wore shorts was two years ago, so you know it was hot, 95 degrees hot!)
